Annelise Sforza is a fine art photographer who documents family heritage, spirituality, women’s sexuality, and body empowerment. With curiosity and a love for adventure, she seeks out these stories in the places we might otherwise look past. She connects deeply with her subjects by spending an extended period of time with them to build trust and create a meaningful story. Her photographs are often accompanied by transcribed conversations between her and her subjects about how their experiences have shaped who they are and what they believe. Her desire is to show how we’re all connected through our personal experiences, despite our differences.
Sforza’s work has been shown in gallery exhibitions at Mi Gallery in Paris, France, The Calumet Gallery in New York, NY, and in various group exhibitions around the New York Tri-state area. She was the 2013 recipient of the New York chapter Young Photographers Alliance mentorship program.
